Blackwood Valley
Area under vines: 600 ha (1,500 acres)
An emerging region renowned for apple and stone fruit production. While
sharing the same latitude as Margaret River and the cool, wet winter
and dry summers, winter temperatures are colder in this region. The
soils are gravelly loam with deep loams along the Blackwood River which
winds its way through two other wine regions on either side of the
Blackwood Valley region.
