About Blackwood Valley Estate

Nestled between heavily wooded, craggy hills, overlooking the majestic Blackwood River, the vineyard enjoys the cool climatic influence of both the west and southern coast. Located between Balingup and Nannup on the western edge of the Blackwood Valley region the estate has rapidly developed a fine reputation for the richness of flavour and depth of colour in the red varieties produced. All wines are marketed under the Hilbillé label.

Hillbillé Reserve Shiraz 2005
Very deep blackish-purple in colour with intense aromas of ripe spicy black plums. Rich and ripe flavours with excellent intensity of fruit and showing good balance of black fruit characters and tannins. An elegant fine style, with long pleasant aftertaste without intrusive tannins, a fine example for the region.

Hillbillé Reserve Merlot 2005
Very deep ruby red in colour with aromas of chocolate and some dark plum characters. Remarkably intense, rich, ripe fruit with soft acidity. Excellent mouth feel with long persistence, clean smooth tannins. A fine example of the variety.
