About Wignalls Wines
Established in 1982 Wignalls are located in the Great Southern region very close to Albany on the southern coast. Varieties in production include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wignalls have produced a number of outstanding vintages of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay since their inception with later plantings of other varieties showing great promise in more recent vintages.

Wignalls Shiraz 2009
The aromas of Asian spices, white pepper are followed by intense flavours of blackberry, raspberry and cinnamon notes with a lovely fresh fruit character. Aged in 80% French oak and the remainder in American oak, this medium bodied Shiraz has a powerful palate feel with silky fruit tannins on a long firm finish.

Wignalls Pinot Noir 2009
Produced by one of the pioneers of this variety in West Australia this wine displays lovely intensity of dark cherries, black plums and strawberries with complex earthy aromas and hints of cinnamon. The palate shows consistent earthy, gamey characters with wild truffles and mushroom tones. Underlying caramel and chocolate characters are also evident. There is a lovely array of flavours and fine balance of tannins.
