About Cape Mentelle Winery

Cape Mentelle is one of the oldest established vineyards in the Margaret River region having been planted in the early 1970’s with their first vintage in 1976. This winery is noted for their extremely fine Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and as a pioneer for the production of Zinfandel in Western Australia. Other varieties planted include Chardonnay, Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Cape Mentelle continues to provide a benchmark for premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from the region.

Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon 2000
Crimson purple in colour with intense cedar, cassis and raspberry aromas with hints of anise. The palate shows lovely underlying vanilla oak with well balanced, deep set cassis plum fruit, with fine tannins and beautifully integrated savoury oak. A wine ideally crafted for cellaring for mid to longer term.
